Remembering Sam Wyche Saying, “You Don’t Live in Cleveland”

Sam Wyche passed away on January 2, 2020.  Wyche learned under Bill Walsh, was known as an offensive innovator and quite a character.  Furthermore, Wyche was the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Tampa  Bay Buccaneers.   His best years were in Cincinnati, which included a Super Bowl XXIII appearance (the Bengals lost to Walsh’s 49ers 20-16).

Former Bengals, Bucs Head Coach Sam Wyche dies at age of 74

From – Wyche coached the Bengals to their second Super Bowl appearance in franchise history in 1988, leading Cincinnati to a 12-4 mark before they were defeated by Bill Walsh’s San Francisco 49ers in heartbreaking fashion in Super Bowl XXIII. He compiled a 61-66 mark in eight seasons with the Bengals, which included two trips to the postseason where he went 3-2.
